Past projects M&D was involved in.
PRISM - Program for Integrated Earth System Modelling
M&D has participated in that effort by leading the WP3i work package charged with assembling state-of the-art climate models into a flexible, easy-to-use, and portable model environment that facilitates the preparation, execution, and analysis of Earth System model experiments.
SFB 512 Subproject A4
The Special Research Project 512 is established at the University of Hamburg since 1998. It is predominantly funded by the German Science Foundation. M&D was involved in the SFB 512 during the 2nd funding phase 2001-2004 in the subpart A4: Historical reconstruction of the North Atlantic storm climate.

Other research results
Informationen über den Sturm im Oktober 1991, bei dem der Fischkutter Andrea Gail verschwand. Die Druck- und Windgraphiken wurden auf der Basis der ERA40 Daten des ECMWF mit PINGO und GrADS erstellt. Alles Übrige wurde von Layli Afshar (Max-Brauer-Schule, 12.Klasse) im Rahmen eines Schulpraktikums recherchiert.
